"S T A T"
“STAT” is an abbreviation that you may hear spoken or documented in the healthcare setting. "STAT", from the Latin "statim", means "immediately". It's used when something needs to be done right away, like a lab test that should be taken STAT.
A concussion is “a serious injury to the brain resulting from the rapid acceleration or deceleration of brain tissue within the skull.”

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that affects brain function. Effects are often short term and can include headaches and trouble with concentration, memory, balance, mood and sleep.

Concussions usually are caused by an impact to the head or body that is associated with a change in brain function. Not everyone who experiences a blow to the body or head has a concussion.

Some concussions cause the person to lose consciousness, but most do not. After a car or trucking accident, it's common to "Get Your Bell Rung", leading to head injuries, concussions, fogginess, and other symptoms. Stat TBI and Concussion can help injured victims navigate their recovery.
